| Have you ever noticed that certain web pages don't seem to display correctly? Maybe the text looks all jumbled, or there seems to be either too much "white space" or no "white space" at all? Or have you noticed that a certain web page looks GREAT on your computer but HORRIBLE on your friend's computer? These problems could likely be related to HTML standards for the web. Standards are the best way to ensure that an "internet surfer" will be able to access any site no matter which browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla, etc) he or she is using. Standards are also the best way to ensure that if you write your own web page, you can be reasonably sure that 99% of web surfers will be able to view and navigate your page successfully. |
